On January 16th, the official opening day, The Great Northern invites you to a free,
lazy breakfast, great keynote speakers such as Vincent Dignan (voted best talk at SXSW V2V 2016)
David Eriksson from North Kingdom, a game-themed party, panel discussions, free coffee,
workshops and much more.

The admission is free and there is no need to sign up or register!

9.30 - 10.00 Opening address

Skellefteå Science City welcomes everyone to the TGN Grand Opening and speaks briefly about TGN. Followed by a brief presentation about BizBuz and then an outline of the week’s program. Michael Stenmark will present Arctic Game Lab and Global Game Jam, which takes place at TGN on January 20-22.

10.00 - 10.40 Keynote: David Eriksson on Innovation for the Experience Age

David Eriksson, COO of North Kingdom, shares his company’s approach to innovation.

North Kingdom is an experience design company that has worked on movies and television series and collaborated with the likes of Google and Disney.

10.45 Innovation (panel)

Discussion regarding the benefits and challenges of large, established companies sitting in co-working innovation houses. Skellefteå Science City’s Emina Kovacevic leads this panel which includes Christoffer Svanberg from Skellefteå Kraft, as well as Lisa Önnerlöv from Boliden and Michael Carlberg Lax from InfoVista (former Ascom).

Moderator Li Skarin will guide us through the afternoon.
Li Skarin is CEO and founder of Massa Media, a radio and TV production company working mainly with Swedish national TV and Swedish Radio.
Hosting national Swedish Radio shows and as a creative director, she is developing new ideas and new media. Owner of a horse ranch outside Piteå, and a dedicated dressage rider.

The tech startup world has been questioning the traditional way of working for years. But ping-pong tables, remote working and Slack aside, what fundamental changes in the way we work can we expect in the future? What changes should we be striving for? Will CVs and university degrees still matter? Will we even still have work to do or will robots take over everything? Marta takes an inspired, people-focused look at these questions and much more.

How do you translate success in your home market into international achievement? This panel includes David Eriksson from North Kingdom, Jeanette Carlsson from Tech Nordic Advocates and Kevin Forss from Noted Media.
